Dana Oakes, BA, RRT-NPS is an author and expert in the field of Respiratory Therapy. As a new graduate, Dana realized that there was a lot to remember to be an effective Respiratory Therapist. After waiting for others to come out with a pocket guide to help organize all this information, he finally decided he needed to jump in and write the very books he needed. This book, CLINICAL PRACTITIONER'S POCKET GUIDE TO RESPIRATORY CARE, quickly became one of the best-selling books in Respiratory Medicine, and hasn't slowed down over 25 years later.
Today Dana has several best-selling titles, including the NEONATAL/PEDIATRIC RESPIRATORY CARE, co-authored VENTILATOR MANAGEMENT: A BEDSIDE REFERENCE GUIDE, HEMODYNAMIC MONITORING: A BEDSIDE REFERENCE MANUAL, HEMODYNAMIC MONITORING STUDY GUIDE, co-authored RESPIRATORY HOME CARE, and his newest title, ABG INSTRUCTIONAL AND POCKET GUIDES.
Dana speaks at conferences and events throughout North America. He spends much of his time researching and talking with Respiratory Therapists. He makes his home with his wife, Terry, in Orono, Maine. He has two daughters and a wonderful granddaughter. During his free time, you'll find him traveling, attending Church, and spending time with family.
