Beth Houston

Beth Houston, MA, MFA, has taught creative writing, literature, and composition at ten universities and colleges in California and Florida and has worked as a writer. She edits the Rhizome Press anthologies of formalist poetry by contemporary poets, many of them multi-award winners. Her publications include several poetry, fiction, and nonfiction books and over two hundred works in dozens of literary and academic journals. Her provocative books on Deism challenge prescribed beliefs with new thoughts about God, religion, spirituality, science, politics, and creativity. Her mystery/thriller novel centers on serial murders and pivots around sex trafficking. (Or does it...?) She has worked professionally in the women’s antiviolence movement and in law enforcement.
