Ronald L. Mize

Ronald L. Mize was born (1970) and raised in North Denver, Colorado. He was trained as a journalist at the University of Colorado Boulder and went on to study Sociology at Colorado State University (M.A.) and University of Wisconsin-Madison (Ph.D.). He is Professor of Language, Culture, and Society at Oregon State University. From 2020-2022, he held the Canada Research Chair in Global Governance at Balsillie School of International Affairs. From 2016 to 2017, he held the Fulbright-Garcia Robles Chair in U.S. Studies at ITAM, Mexico City. He previously taught at Humboldt State University, University of Saint Francis Fort Wayne, California State University San Marcos, University of California San Diego, University of Wisconsin Rock County, Southwestern College, Cornell University, and Colorado State University. He teaches in the areas of Critical Race Theory and LatCrit, Comparative Ethnic Studies, Farmworker Justice Movements, and Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies. He lives with his family (including his dog Isa and cat Alvin) in Forest Grove, Oregon.
