Hello, I've been writing stories, fact and fiction, since my teens when I wrote a short story that explained just how Cassius Clay happened to be a descendant of John Wilkes Booth. Now that's plotting. Suddenly realizing I was going to have to earn a living, I chose sportswriting. I grew up participating in every sport and outdoor adventure I could talk my parents into, and I wanted to travel. I landed my dream job at the Rocky Mountain News in Denver, and I covered everything from backgammon to the World Series to four Olympics. When the "Rocky" closed its doors in 2009, I took the opportunity to write and self-publish my first book -- Heroes, Villains, Dames & Disasters -- about the newspaper's 150-year history. That led to a photo book -- Historic Photos of Denver in the 50s, 60s and 70s. But I grew up addicted to fiction. I'd hide Ian Fleming's tiny James Bond paperbacks inside my math book in class. The idea for a novel, Double Dare, melded my interest in the outdoors with my love for suspense thrillers. As an avid skier, mountain bike rider, kayaker, etc., it nagged me that no one wrote outdoors adventure fiction. I hope Double Dare scratches that itch for readers.
