Dean Kaplan has over thirty years expe­ri­ence in col­lec­tions, nego­ti­a­tions, man­age­ment con­sult­ing and busi­ness man­age­ment. He per­son­ally han­dles all large col­lec­tion claims. He has closed over $500 mil­lion in trans­ac­tions dur­ing his career. Mr. Kaplan’s exper­tise is evi­denced by the numer­ous engage­ments to travel inter­na­tion­ally (40 coun­tries) to nego­ti­ate trans­ac­tions, includ­ing nearly a dozen trips over the last 3 years to Asia, Europe and the Per­sian Gulf. He has worked with For­tune 500 inter­na­tional con­glom­er­ates, Sil­i­con Val­ley tech­nol­ogy start-ups, and small and medium size busi­nesses in a wide vari­ety of industries. He is a fre­quent guest lec­turer on a vari­ety of credit and col­lec­tion top­ics to credit man­age­ment groups spon­sored by NACM (National Asso­ci­a­tion of Credit Man­agers), Riemer Report­ing Ser­vice and Dun & Brad­street. He is also a con­trib­u­tor to Credit Today. Pre­vi­ously, Dean has been the CFO of two ven­ture backed high-tech com­pa­nies, sell­ing one and res­ur­rect­ing the other. He owned and oper­ated a man­u­fac­tur­ing firm for seven years, achiev­ing 500% growth. He was at a man­age­ment con­sul­tant for eight years at KPMG, spe­cial­iz­ing in M&A, busi­ness plan­ning, bank­rupt­cies and reor­ga­ni­za­tions. Dean has an MBA from the Uni­ver­sity of Chicago and a B.A. degree from Clare­mont McKenna College.
