Carole Lee Limata graduated with an Associate Degree (AAS) in Nursing from Queens College, New York in 1968. After taking her Nursing Boards that summer, she worked as a Registered Nurse at New York City’s Metropolitan Hospital, and then, at the City’s Premature Nursery Center located at Elmhurst Hospital before moving to Northern California. She received a Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) from Sacramento State University, and earned a Master’s Degree (MSN) from the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) in 1980.

Throughout her forty-year nursing career, Carole worked as a staff nurse, supervisor, maternity faculty member, and prenatal educator before becoming a Director of a Maternity Department. In 2008, she retired from her final position as Supervisor of the Screening Programs at the Kaiser Permanente Genetics Department in Oakland, California. Ellis Angels is her first novel since retiring from clinical nursing. She was captivated by the Ellis Island Hospital story the first time she visited Ellis Island Museum. Carole has three wonderful grown children, a terrific son-in-law and a beautiful grand-daughter, Brooke Marie. With her husband, Al, she divides her time equally between both coasts.
