Marga Stander is from South Africa and grew up in the Northern Cape Province. After school she studied drama, literature and languages and became a teacher and lecturer in languages and art. She is also a passionate bird watcher and traveller and is interested in the birds of every country she visits. She published her first book on Kindle, called 'Beside Still Waters' (a Christian devotional book) in June 2013 and also started publishing a series of children's books on birds, called Howard the Owl.
