His work has appeared in TROUT, ESPN Outdoors, the New York Times, Country Living, The Drake, Wild West, Persimmon Hill, Farmer's Almanac, The Upland Almanac, Sporting Classics Daily, and the Santa Fe New Mexican.

He's been a columnist for the Albuquerque Journal, Grouse Point, The Flyfisher, Eastern Flyfishing, Sportsman's Guide, Enchantment, and Southwest Flyfishing.

Craig is a member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association and his writing has been recognized with awards from the American Fisheries Society, Association for Conservation Information, and Outdoor Writers Association of America. Craig holds a B.S. in fisheries science from New Mexico State University which named him the 2022 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year in the College of Agriculture. He earned an M.S. in fish ecology from the University of Arizona, and an M.A. in rhetoric from the University of New Mexico. He's a member of the Hillsboro (NM) Historical Society and a supporter of the Booth Society, in Spearfish, South Dakota.
