Michael W. Hines taught in the face-to-face classroom for more than 20 years. He also taught church history online for a consortium of Christian Colleges and for Dallas Christian College. He currently teaches online for Manhattan Christian College, Manhattan, Kansas. Mike, as he prefers to be called, became a Christian while in high school and enrolled at Nebraska Christian College in 1961 when it was located in Norfolk, Nebraska. The main reason for choosing Nebraska Christian College was its proximity to Norfolk Junior College where he had a half-tuition scholarship to play football. His intention was to play for NJC then accept a full scholarship from an NAIA school in Orange City, Iowa. God had other plans and Mike remained at NCC. He entered full-time ministry after his 1965 graduation. Mike began his teaching career at Intermountain Bible College in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1973. In 1976, he entered graduate school at Cincinnati Christian Seminary in Ohio. After doing his graduate work in summer sessions, he graduated in 1981 with an M.Div. in Church History. He also took graduate work at the University of Colorado (Boulder), University of Cincinnati, and Boise State University. Mike's ministries took him to six different states (Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, Ohio, Idaho, and Arizona). In addition to Intermountain Bible College, he taught at Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary (now, Cincinnati Christian University) and Boise Bible College. He is retired after 52 years in ministry and teaching. He spends much of his retirement continuing his studies, teaching online, and writing.
