Marie Madigan was born sometime in the last century and started reading two months later. She wrote a collection of stories called Fishy Adventures at the age of ten, which led to the publication of her first book less than forty years later.
The young Marie studied zoology but on qualifying she mystifyingly went to work as an audiologist in a sound-proofed box with no windows. Realising that jobs with roofs overhead weren't her thing, she moved from Ireland to Wales and took a variety of jobs in nature conservation, which made her much muddier and happier. She and her partner now run a small nature conservation contracting firm, which gets them out of the house into some of the loveliest parts of the country.
Marie has written two books on cycle touring that should convince even the most fearful that if she can spend a holiday on a bike, anyone can. She's currently writing a series of fantasy novellas, the first of which will be released in March 2016.
She lives on the east coast of Anglesey in North Wales, which she firmly believes is one of the most beautiful corners of the planet. In between work, reading and writing, she tends to the needs of a pilgrim cat.
