Brian W. Zimmer

Brian Zimmer works as a volcanologist at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. His work has taken him around the world, but Iceland is a favorite spot he keeps returning to. Each year he takes university-level students to Iceland to share the natural splendor and geologic wonder of the island with them. According to his students, the Laugavegur Trail is both the most challenging and rewarding part of the trip.
