I'm a Registered Nutritional Therapist and founder of the award-winning WellWellWell Nutrition clinic (@WellWellWellUK), where I specialise in supporting women as they transition through the menopause. I feel strongly that there simply isn't enough information out there to help women manage their health during this stage of life, which is why I created a symptom-by-symptom nutritional guide to the menopause in my latest book The Happy Menopause: Smart Nutrition to Help You Flourish. I've packed the book with practical ideas, simple recipes and everyday solutions to help you target the different symptoms you’re struggling with. I’m also the host of The Happy Menopause podcast, which is a monthly show, and in each episode, I speak to a different expert about a specific aspect of the menopause. Popular episodes include talking to a professor of circadian neuroscience about sleep; a specialist in hormonal headaches; and a psychologist & neuroscientist about brain fog. In my nutrition clinic I constantly hear people say: “It must be my age” as an excuse for their lack of energy. In fact, it’s far more likely that diet and lifestyle are the main culprits, and a few simple changes and new habits can make a world of difference to how you feel. And so the idea for Va Va Voom: The 10-Day Energy Diet was born. I wrote it for all of you who don’t want to take your lack of energy lying down! The Right Bite was also inspired by the work that I do in my WellWellWell nutrition clinics. I quickly discovered that the best nutrition plan in the world won't be of any use if your client is too busy or too stressed to follow it. There seems to be no such thing as a proper lunch break any more and when you only have a few minutes to grab something before heading back to your desk, it can be really difficult to make the right choice. So I made it my business to research the menus of popular lunch outlets and recommend specific soups, salads or sandwiches to my clients, so they didn't have to worry about what to choose. The Right Bite is an extension of that and offers a whole selection of smart food choices in a wide range of different eating environments. Food has always played a big part in my life and living and working in France for many years taught me a real appreciation of the importance of good food. After training for 4 years at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition to become a Registered Nutritional Therapist, I was able to develop that love of food into a new profession, and I still can't believe how lucky I am! Every day is different and there's never a dull moment. On any given day I could find myself chatting to a journalist who's looking for a comment for a nutrition article; weighing and analysing the contents of a bucket of fried chicken for The Right Bite; discussing a client's health goal in my nutrition clinic; interviewing an inspiring podcast guest or running a nutrition workshop for the staff of a blue-chip company.
