Ruth Magnusson Davis

关于作者

Ruth Magnusson Davis is the founder and editor of the New Matthew Bible Project, which is dedicated to gently updating the 1537 Matthew Bible for today. A retired lawyer and conservative Christian, she has an undergraduate degree in languages (French and German) and grammar. In 2016 she published the New Testament of the New Matthew Bible (NMB) as "The October Testament." In 2024, the Pentateuch was published under the name "The Five Books of Moses." . Since the Matthew Bible formed the base of the King James Version -- computer studies have shown that the KJV New Testament is 83% straight Tyndale from the Matthew Bible -- readers will find much that is familiar in the October Testament. Davis also wrote "The Story of the Matthew Bible." This book, in two parts, is the world's first book to tell the full story of the Matthew Bible. Part 1 is about the three men who made it, William Tyndale, Myles Coverdale, and John Rogers, and their heroism, faith, and sacrifice. It sifts through the conflicting histories about the Matthew Bible and gets to the truth. Part 2 is an insightful analysis of the changes made to Tyndale and Coverdale's translations as they began to be amended in the Great and Geneva Bibles, the KJV, and down to the present day. Davis's first book was "True to His Ways: Purity and Safety in Christian Spiritual Practice." This highly acclaimed book thoughtfully examines Charismatic spiritual practices. Baruch House also publishes other works, including the excellent but neglected works of Myles Coverdale.
