Baptiste Tavernier was born in 1981 in Vaison-la-Romaine, France.
He received his Master degree (musicology) from Paris VIII University and started a PhD (unfinished) in digital arts, but decided to move to Japan when he was 26. He then studied martial arts for 7 years at the International Budo University in Chiba.
A tireless Jack-of-all-trades, Baptiste has worked in Japan as an armour repairer, appeared on martial arts TV shows on NHK, composed music and works for several magazines, including "Kendo World" and "Yashima". He's parallely pursuing a career in modern art and has already exhibited his art internationally since 2014.
Baptiste holds the grades of :
- Tankendo Kyoshi 7th dan
- Jukendo Renshi 6th dan
- Naginata 4th dan
- Battodo 2nd dan
He also studies and teaches classical martial school Tendo-ryu.
