Liam Drew is a writer, features journalist and former neurobiologist. He works mainly on biology and biomedical research. He is a regular contributor to Nature, and has also written for The Guardian, New Scientist, Slate, Aeon, Quanta, BBC Wildlife and others. His first book was I, Mammal: The Story of What Makes us Mammals (Bloomsbury, 2017) and he has now written the The Brain Book (DK Publishing, 2021) an introduction to the brain for 7-9 year olds. His academic career was spent between University College London and Columbia University, New York researching many aspects of neuroscience. He now writes in Kent, UK, where he lives with his wife and daughters.
