Mike Maxwell

Mike served with the US Army in Vietnam and worked as a broadcast journalist in Columbus, Ohio, before heading west to Colorado, where he held various blue- and white-collar jobs including construction worker, inner-city public housing manager in Denver, and manager of a historic hotel in the mountain town of Telluride. He taught history at Mancos High School for a dozen years, and he has been operating the Student’s Friend website for history teachers since 2001. He has a BA in history and an MPA in public affairs, is married with two grown children, and resides amid the mountains and deserts of southwest Colorado.
