Paul Alexander Gonzales, MPAS, PA-C (he/him), is a nationally certified physician assistant, accomplished educator, and co-author of The PA Rotation Exam Review. He currently serves as the Founding Director of Didactic Education and Assistant Professor at California State University, San Bernardino, where he oversees curriculum development. Paul is pursuing his Doctor of Education (EdD) through A.T. Still University, enhancing his expertise in academic leadership and medical education.

With a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from UT Southwestern Medical Center, Paul has been certified since 2016 and gained clinical experience across diverse settings, including pediatric neurology, urgent care, and HIV specialty care. Currently, he practices at a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing gender-affirming care, medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder, and comprehensive care to underserved populations.

Paul is deeply involved in shaping the future of PA education. He serves on several committees, including the PAEA Future Educator Development Steering Committee and the PA Foundation Scholarship and Grants Committee. A former education chair of the LBGT PA Caucus, Paul is also recognized for his commitment to diversity and inclusion within the profession.

He was the recipient of the AAPA Student Academy Student of the Year Award in 2015 and is a member of many professional organizations including the Alpha Eta Society National Scholastic Honor Society for Allied Health Professionals, Pi Alpha National Honor Society for PAs, the American Academy of Physician Associates and the PA Education Association. He is also a Neal Kocurek Scholar amongst many other awards and accolades.

As the creator of Dose of PA (formerly Trust Me, I’m a PA Student), Paul has supported PA students nationwide with free resources and mentorship. His experience as an educator, clinical preceptor, and program leader makes him uniquely qualified to help students succeed. His latest book, The PA Rotation Exam Review, 2nd Edition, reflects his passion for empowering the next generation of PAs with concise, high-yield content tailored to the most commonly tested clinical rotations.
