Like many, my parents taught me to hold a pencil and then my teachers–especially at Oakmont Regional High School, Saint Anselm College, and Harvard University–helped me create with it. Today, when I’m not writing my own stories, I help young writers tell their own.
The road back to the high school classroom quite literally took me around the world; first to Morocco for Peace Corps service and then across Africa, Asia, and Europe. When I’m not writing beside the forests of Massachusetts, I wander among the Joshua trees of California’s Mojave Desert.
