关于作者

Kelly resides in rural northern Michigan. She has lived on small farms for over 30 years, raising a variety of farm animals along with many cats and dogs. She is inspired by the messages that animals bring to each of our lives. She believes these special creatures come to teach us many lessons and to offer their unconditional love. Kelly enjoys sharing these stories with children and encourages little ones to connect with books and animals.

She is an avid spinner of wool and carves custom ceramic tiles of animals. She enjoys gardening and spending time in nature.

The story of Grace is in fact a true story. She came to us on a trip to the city as a stray cat and jumped in our station wagon as we were putting our suitcases in. We searched the area for her owner, but it appeared she didn’t belong to anyone. Grace came home and became a member of our family for many years. We called her ‘Grumpy Grace’ because she had the grumpiest little ‘meow’ sound and at first was very leery of everyone. Eventually she became the most loving member on the farm and we called her The Greeter as she would greet any car that pulled in the driveway and accompany the visitors to the house. She profoundly touched our lives and her story needed to be shared. Kelly encourages people to be aware of stray animals who need their forever homes.

This book is illustrated by Kelly’s Aunt Mary, so it’s a family team effort. Mary is a talented artist who has a passion for drawing. She appreciates the beauty of creation and it is reflected in her lovely artwork. In her free time, Mary enjoys golfing, flower gardening and running. She is now retired after 35 years in the medical profession.

Mary and Kelly have been lifelong friends as well as relatives.
