Mary Jacobs

Mary Jacobs is a freelance writer based in Plano, Texas. She is a longtime contributor to the Dallas Morning News as well as The Silver Century, Religion News Service, United Methodist News Service and other publications. Past and present clients include Southern Methodist University, The Arbor Company, The LaSalle Group, Intuit, Boy Scouts of America, and InTouch Credit Union. A graduate of Leadership Plano Class 31, Mary was a founding organizer of TEDxPlano in 2014 and a TEDxPlano speaker in 2017. She was also producer of Plano Podcast. Her leadership in Plano led Plano Magazine to name her a 2018 #girlboss. In 2018, the History Press published Mary’s first book, Haunted Plano, Texas. She is also co-author of Hidden History of Texas (The History Press, 2020) and Past & Present: Plano (The History Press, 2023.)
