Andy is a retired Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)/mutual fund wholesaler. During his corporate days, he was responsible for training Registered Investment Advisors (RIA's), family offices, investment advisors and Certified Public Accountants (CPA's) on multi-generational wealth building and wealth preservation strategies in seven Midwestern states. Due to hard work and following the financial strategies in his books, he was able to retire from the corporate world at age 41. During his time in the corporate world he traveled 150 nights per year and flew over 75,000 airline miles per year. He is now a full-time lifestyle entrepreneur, author and consultant. He works out of his office in a small town in Northern Michigan. Mr. LaPointe is also a remote corporate advisor to a Canadian-based digital asset firm. This is a cryptocurrency startup with a mission to bring digital assets to investment advisors, wealth managers, institutional investors and retail investors. About Andy: Mr. LaPointe graduated high school in 1986 and earned his Michigan real estate license in 1987. He worked as a Realtor while attending college at Eastern Michigan University. He used his real estate income to pay for a portion of his college education. In 1991, he earned a BBA in Finance from EMU. In 1994, he earned his Series 7 (stockbroker) license. Prior to retiring from the corporate world in 2009, he spent 15 years as a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), mutual fund wholesaler and Series 7 stockbroker advising high net worth individuals, professional football players and small business owners. He held the following professional licenses: Series 7, State of Michigan Life Insurance license, State of Michigan Variable Annuity license and Series 65 (RIA). He was also a CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst®) candidate. However, due to the events of 9/11, prior to taking the CIMA certification exam, Andy decided it was time to learn the corporate world of high finance. He is the author of 24+ books on the subjects of fintech, personal finance, small business consulting, real estate, and lifestyle entrepreneurship. Andy has been interviewed for some of America's largest publications on the subjects of small business marketing, real estate, fintech and marketing. He has been quoted in numerous publications and websites including Bank of America/Merrill Lynch, American Express, Nasdaq.com, Entrepreneur and more. Andy is a frequent speaker and has spoken to audiences ranging in size from 5 to 1,500 participants. His public speaking experience includes public seminars, breakout sessions and keynote presentations. He recently was the keynote speaker at the Midwest Treasury Management Association on the subject of cryptocurrency and bitcoin. He is a strong believer in giving back and is involved in local volunteering and is very active in his local community.
