Cheryl Neely holds a PhD in Sociology and teaches courses in both sociology and criminology. Her book, “You’re Dead, So What? Media, Police, and the Invisibility of Black Women as Victim of Homicide”, (Michigan State University Press, 2015) won the 2016 Gold Medal Midwest Book Award. She lives in Michigan.
