I have been in the business of sports card collecting since I was a little boy, when I began doing so on an on-and-off basis. My earlier years were spent outside of the United States, but I would often visit with my family and spend summer vacations with my grandparents. A fond memory I have was saving my hard-earned pocket money and using it to add to my growing sports card collection—my pride and joy! Nothing came close for me to the exhilarating feeling of the rush I would get every time I got to open the packages. Sadly, I was devastated when we moved back to the US, and I found that my boxes containing my sports cards were lost. Years later, I can recall going into a Target and seeing a pile of boxed Prizms, and I ended up buying them all, of course! Hahahaha! Back in the day, I had very little disposable income, and I could only afford one cello or a hanger. I ended up opening half of the boxes and sold/flipped the rest for almost three times the price. So not only did I make a profit on the WHOLE purchase, but I got to open a lot of boxes for free. Opening all the boxes brought back a feeling of nostalgia that I will always cherish! Now that I am an adult, my budget is bigger, and I can proudly and enthusiastically do this both as a hobby and for investment purposes.
