Hugh Finlayson

Hugh is the English co-author of the Adventure in Greece series, written with his Greek wife, Athina. The two met while studying on the Erasmus exchange programme at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. Since then, they have been living and working in London and Scotland. During their years together, Hugh has come to know and love the country of Greece; its people, language, culture, climate, and of course the food. Through his never-ending yet rewarding journey of learning Greek, Hugh gradually realised he wanted to read bilingual books for learning Greek. He had found similar books in German immensely helpful back when he was living in Munich. Athina liked the idea too. So given their creative backgrounds, the two of them decided to work in their free time, writing the stories (and laboriously debating over the best translations) which they hope will transport their readers to Greece and give them a rewarding sense of adventure and achievement.
