Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Shane joined the United States Navy at the age of 19 and continues his service today, almost two decades later. He married his high school sweetheart, Miranda, when they were both 21 and she moved out to Okinawa Japan to begin their lives together. Miranda has a Master's degree in marketing and enjoys running and photography. After living in Japan with their two pups, Kaito and Takai, they spent five years living in Hawaii, where Shane worked in Naval Special Warfare and deployed several times. From there, they moved to North Carolina to continue to serve with special forces, with deployments to East Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan, and also Syria. After five years in special operations, they moved to Virginia to settle down and enjoy time together. After two years in Virginia, they packed up and headed to California where they welcomed their first son, Cameron. Two years later, thier second son was born, named Carson. We have been writing books and recently started doing all illustrations too. In addition to books, they create fine art, apparel graphics, and jewelry. Shane is set to retire in 2026, when they will move back to Ohio to raise their boys.
