关于作者

Dr. Karen Crozer is a writer, researcher, and connoisseur of the world's best food: mac and cheese. Dr. Crozer is a tenured Associate Professor of English at Los Angeles Mission College, where she also chairs the English, Communication Studies, and Journalism Department. She has taught college-level English for over fifteen years, fostering inclusive environments that stimulate intellectual growth.

Dr. Crozer's scholastic journey includes an M.S. in Education, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing, and a M.A./Ph.D. in English. Her diverse interests, graduate studies, and love for technology help her innovate in the college classroom. In 2020, Dr. Crozer received the Faculty of the Year award from CalWorks students at L.A. Mission College.

During the pandemic, Dr. Crozer served as a Distance Education Specialist for Los Angeles Community College (LACCD), the largest community college district in the United States. She currently leads classes and seminars for LACCD faculty on ADA-compliance, active Zoom teaching, and ChatGPT in Higher Education.

Karen also has a passion for reaching children. Before becoming a college professor, she served as a public school teacher in Harlem. She also helped transform literacy rates among K-5 students through her work with STAR Education, a Los Angeles-based educational non-profit. Her contributions to education have been recognized by two AmeriCorps Education Awards and Claremont Graduate University’s Transdisciplinary Research Award.

However, her life isn't solely confined to academia. When she isn't teaching or writing, she immerses herself in travel, having visited over 40 countries across all seven continents on a shoe-string budget. At home, she relishes time with her three rescue dogs, her husband, and her son, Lex.
