Miranda is a self-taught artist from the Midwest. At an early age, Miranda quickly fell in love with art and drew constantly, creating short picture books to share with family and friends. She loved to study images from animated children’s films, graphic novels, and comics whenever she went to the library. Around age 11, she made a 100-page picture book inspired by a fairy manga she studied. Surprisingly, the idea of becoming an author never entered her mind. Miranda wanted to be an animator and didn’t consider comics until her last year of high school, during which she began writing The Spirit Seeds and later illustrated the first book at age 19. Quote from Miranda: “It’s funny how God lines up the pieces... here I was making picture books out of paper and staples at age 4 and the thought of being an author never occurred to me. It’s almost like I was born to be a storyteller and my spirit knew it but my mind didn’t get the memo. It’s all thanks to God that I ended up here in spite of my cluelessness.“ To keep up with Miranda and her comics, please visit www.mirandaartz.com
