Dennis Allan McElrath was born in Oceanside, California, on September 21, 1933. He is the son of Harry F. and Linda
(Schneider) McElrath. He is honored to have lived and worked in Fiji, playing a significant role in developing the country’s
tourism, especially Denarau Island. His achievements include:

• Served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force,
1951–1955

McElrath’s career began after he studied Aeronautical Engineering at Cal Aero Technical Institute for two years, then joined
Douglas Aircraft Corporation. From there, you can trace his path through commercial real estate development in Fiji, thanks in
large part to his accidental discovery of Denarau Island in 1969. McElrath shares the credit for his success with his family,
friends, and business partners across Fiji and the globe.
