Mike Chin is a scholar of ancient religions and ancient imagination. He is interested in the methods that Romans used to make sense of living in the world. Sometimes these methods were religious, sometimes they were philosophical, and sometimes they were scientific. As a scholar and a practicing artist, Mike is curious about worldmaking of all kinds, and in addition to writing books about ancient religion, he also spends time making puppet shows and comics based on ancient texts, partly because it's fun and partly because he thinks there's no better way to imagine a world than to try to make it out of cardboard and papier-maché.
Mike teaches in Classics at the University of California at Davis.
