Hello! I'm Thomas Lawrance, born on a sunny April 1, 1970, though many think my April Fool's Day birth explains a lot of my eccentricities. I've been a bit of a nomad all my life, living in corners of the world and absorbing culture like a sponge. I studied in the United Kingdom and then escaped to Madrid—yes, escaping has always been my thing—to soak up art and philosophy. My profession? Well, for years I dedicated myself to the noble art of escapism. No, I didn't study a course with Houdini, but almost. I specialized in getting myself out of tighter spots than a sudoku in a whirlwind, and doing it with a smile. I've performed in tiny theaters and large arenas alike, always defying gravity, common sense, and the most stubborn locks. But not everything in life can be an escape, and over time I traded locks for words. Now I write, mainly about what I know best: escapes. Yes, my escape room books don't just challenge you to get out of a room but to break free from your own mental limitations. Who would have thought that an escapist would end up voluntarily locking himself up for hours to write! Living among so many cultures has not only taught me how to order beer in various languages but also to understand the universality of the desire for freedom. This is reflected on every page I write and in every act I've performed. Although I've hung up my escapist boots, the spirit lives on in every line I pen and every talk I give. My life has been a journey of escapes, both literal and literary, and even though I no longer hang from heights in a straitjacket, the thrill remains the same. As I always say, you don't need keys to open new doors, just a bit of curiosity and a lot of boldness. So here I am, sharing my story, hoping to inspire others to find their own way out!
