Eliot J. Hawke hails from the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, a region where hurricanes and severe storms are a frequent reality. Growing up in a place where disaster preparedness was a way of life, Eliot learned early on how crucial it is to have reliable ways to stay connected. Combining this upbringing with a lifelong passion for technology, he naturally gravitated toward radio communication and soon became a skilled user of the Baofeng radio. Eliot knows all too well the feeling of powerlessness that comes with being stranded during a disaster. He’s lived through the uncertainty and fear that hit hardest when conventional communication fails. After experiencing firsthand how a simple radio became his lifeline in a severe winter storm, he made it his mission to help others avoid that helplessness.
