Rose Dempsey has written stories since she was 7 years old, and poetry since a teenager. Her poetry has been published in various magazines, and in "Poetry Now" anthologies. In 2000 she published "Twilight", a book of poetry, in the UK. In 2024, she published "The Storybook Witch" with illustrations by Blueberry Illustrations, and is currently working on other projects.
She is a grandmother of 9 and great-grandmother of 11, and has always been a proponent of early childhood education, in particular reading, and hopes that her children's poetry awakens a delight in language, for little ones.
She lives in South Carolina with her husband, Mark, 2 dogs, 1 cat and 4 chickens. Her passions include reading, gardening, model trains (she is currently building a miniature train/town layout) and water - rivers, lakes, streams and ponds. Her husband is in the process of building her a stream and pond on their property and she is cultivating a variety of plants to make it her own tranquil space.
