I am a Collins Saponi from Captain Tom's Band. I also descend from the Cherokee and Quapaw through my Johnson and Stodghill as well my Keel and Whitaker family. I descend from the Pamunkey through my West and Fox line. I descend from the Catawba through my Webb and Waters line. I grew up with the knowledge of being "Poni" Indian as told to me by my elders. I have authored articles in Appalachian Quarterly, Appalachian Journal, as well online media. I began my paper-trail research into our community in 1987 at the age of 15 as a way to explain to outsiders who I am and where my people come from. I am an artist in various media. I spent my life working in warehouses and manufacturing. I graduated from Mansfield High School in Mansfield, TX class of 1991. I currently live in Helena, AR and became disabled in 2023.
