RTHP received his Bachelor's of Science degree in biology in 2016 from Central Washington University. His primary thesis was on the ecology of non-native whiptail lizards (genus Aspidoscelis) in Grant County, Washington, and he has presented his research locally, regionally, and nationally. An avid outdoorsman and self-described "happy weirdo", RTHP resides in central Washington surrounded by excellent fishing, wilderness, and mysteries. When not writing or working seasonal biology jobs, he enjoys chasing the stimulating will-o-the-wisps of carp fishing, herpetology and entomology, oddities and curiosities, playing music, photography, processing bones and skulls, and sitting in cemeteries looking pensive. He lives with his wife, two sons, and four cats.
