Barbara Cotter Smith

Barbara Cotter Smith is a former librarian and mother of three. She is a voracious reader and herbal tea lover. When she doesn't have her nose in a good mystery, Barbara can often be found looking out her kitchen bay windows in search of birds, squirrels, deer, and other animals on her upstate New York property. Barbara wrote the "Animals of the World" series to introduce little ones to native animals from around the world. It is her sincere hope that her books' colorful illustrations, alliteration, and rhymes will encourage children to appreciate nature and the world at large.
