I first visited the Once Upon a Time Bookshop in Alice Hoffman’s bestselling short story “The Bookstore Sisters,” and I never wanted to leave. It feels like a personal gift to be granted more time with the Gibson family.

    Here in book 2, we are given privy to all the unanswered questions about Isabel’s past with her sister Sophie, which were dangling for us in book 1. Now Isabel is back in Maine having mended issues with her sister and they are both now running the bookstore. Isabel and Johnny have rekindled their past love left hanging and are now attempting to tie the knot, but after several attempts and disruptions, will it happen?

    This story has a good mixture of love, community, likeable characters, and will keep us reading to find out if Isabel and Johnny can finally find some time to say their vows. I enjoyed both books so far in this series and shall look forward to the final book out on preorder now.

    I read this whilst on a long train journey and it certainly helped to pass the time , a story full of both happiness and sorrow . This story kept me interested from start to finish and is a nice tale with an emotional ending . Good !
