Ben comes from the Rhondda Valley in the heart of South Wales in the United Kingdom. He is the proudest Father there is! It's true to say that his World revolves around his young Son Oscar along with Ava and Mason, his step children and his wonderful partner Caroline. Together they live on an idyllic farm near Llantrisant where they are surrounded by their beloved pets. By day he is a Teacher of children with additional learning needs and by night a swimming instructor to all levels of swimmer and of all ages. What he doesn’t know about teaching someone to swim simply isn’t worth knowing. Ben’s particular prowess is what he describes as, ‘The most important area, that of teaching the nervous beginner.’ Over the past twenty seven years he has honed his skills and successfully taught thousands of children and adults to swim. His empathy, patience and understanding of how children learn never fail to impress the parents of the children he has taught. Being an experienced school teacher clearly enhances his expertise in ensuring children understand everything they need to know to in order to succeed. His methods focus on what he sees as the foundations of swimming, namely the union of: confidence; self-buoyancy; good body position; and smooth movements. His methodology has been broken down into five easy to follow chapters with wonderful illustrations throughout to ensure that the movements are faultless. Ben has made this daunting process for any parent so easy to follow it will feel like he is there with you every step of the way. Ben says 'For many years I've wanted to write this book. There's a huge gap in the market. As a young lifeguard I would sit on poolside and see so many proud parents desperately trying to help their children learn to swim but without the knowledge, at best these children will learn to swim badly but more often than not, they will simply not learn. That is why this book was so needed. It's is aimed at all of the parents out there who take pleasure in teaching their children to learn and develop new skills. It actually makes a daunting process and enjoyable process.'
