Bibi LeBlanc

Bibi LeBlanc, award-winning author and founder of Culture to Color, an indie publishing company, is a native of Germany. She has lived in DeLand, Florida, for over 30 years, a result of her life’s interesting twists and turns ... She was born and grew up in West-Berlin, Germany, at a time when The Wall surrounding her hometown was part of everyday live. It was a very present reality during her growing-up years. Leaving the city on any day to just go outside to the countryside was not possible. And going on a trip to another part of Germany or Europe was never easy, having to cross through several checkpoints into and out of East-Germany before being were free to go where they wanted. After graduating from high-school, she immediately moved to another part of Germany, where she received 2 years of business administration training in a British company. She very much enjoyed this time, learning new things and meeting new people. Her strong desire to see more of the world kept tugging at her, though, and led her to be an "au pair" in California for eight months. She learned most of her English here, went to her first personal growth seminar and made her first skydive. It was an instrumental time in her life in many ways! Upon her return to Germany and following her love of traveling and photography, she became a flight attendant with Lufthansa, a German airline. She also learned to skydive, and she spent four amazing years traveling the world, taking photos and skydiving in many interesting places. She made new friends and skydived all over Europe, the US, Hong-Kong, Australia, South-Africa, etc. During this time, she met her husband-to-be. They got married, and Bibi moved from Germany to Florida –her childhood dream of living in a place with palm trees and close to the ocean had come true. Bibi and her husband worked together in the skydiving industry and traveled to many skydiving events all over the world. When they had their three sons, they decided early on to homeschool them. Traveling became part of their education, and they go on travel adventures together to this day. Bibi has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. She’s owned and run different businesses over the years, a skydiving equipment business, a consulting and travel business, etc. She is an active real estate investor, and she is working on a couple of other book projects. Bibi is curious about life and its endless possibilities. Traveling has been a big theme in her life. In her early years it was a longing to escape a city surrounded by a wall, to see the countryside and animals, to just have the freedom to go where she wanted. Later it became the desire for new experiences, learn new things, and to connect with people from different cultures. “I love to travel, To see life from a different perspective, To experience life through the newness of situations, places, people, through exploring and connecting.” Photography also has always been part of her life. To her, photography means capturing an adventure, a moment in time, and being able to share it, to connect with you, even though you may be separated by time and space. It is sharing her love and the joy of life! Culture to Color gives her the opportunity to share her love of exploring destinations through her photography by turning them into a different medium, a coloring book, and share with you.
