Cate Michels loves history and stories of ordinary people living in extraordinary times. She believes the Midwest is more than fly-over country and loves writing stories inspired by characters grounded in these areas. She’s an avid reader of history—fiction and non-fiction and loves to imagine people’s lives from days gone by. Her favorite book, next to the Bible, is the thesaurus because searching for the exact right word is (usually) a fun and rewarding journey. Cate loves to travel with her husband and two adult sons because everyone enjoys museums and historical sites. She is about to publish the third book in a historical fiction trilogy set between America’s entrance into the Great War and the days just before the beginning of the Second World War.
