Christine Nelson

关于作者

Christine Nelson, MPAS, PA-C, worked in social services for 26 years before making a decision to attend PA school. She found a true passion in mental health services and felt that she could make a difference by being in a position to prescribe psychotropic medications. She now has a psychiatric fellowship at Missouri University in Columbia, MO. Christine’s first author endeavor, The PA Bible, is dedicated to current students who are taking the same dive into the health field that she did. It is the all-inclusive study guide that she wished she had while she was passing her Boards. Before PA school, Christine developed and supervised multiple local mental health programs including afterschool programs, summer day treatment, respite, and case management. Later in her employment, she developed her community’s first Mobile Crisis Outreach Team and worked as the Regional Director for the Crisis Intervention Team, acting as a liaison with the local police department to train local law enforcement to respond to persons with mental illness. Christine and her husband also founded the Family Support Center of Washington County that is a center for children ages 0-11 who are at risk for child abuse and neglect. They ran the center for 7 years and it still holds a special place in their hearts. Outside of her medical work, Christine likes to run, swim, and bike. She has completed 6 Ironman competitions and two LoToJa relays. She and her husband have four grown kids who they adore. Their family loves to travel together and their favorite places to go are Maui, the Big Island, Disneyland, and Oceanside, CA.
