David Coggins is an award-winning writer, artist, and set designer. His latest book, Blue: A St. Barts Memoir, follows on his popular Paris in Winter: An Illustrated Memoir. It is an affectionate, poetic account of his family's annual visits to the island of St. Barts, full of humorous stories and vivid ink drawings. Other books include The Nostalgic Heart, a travel memoir which received an Independent Publisher Book Award, and Eden: Summer Collages, a visual diary of life in the woods. His eight-volume set of Daybooks, published under the pseudonym Robert Carolina, is in the collection of the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Coggins's artwork has been exhibited widely in the U.S. and abroad. Theater designs include work for Théâtre de la Jeune Lune, Guthrie Theater, and La Jolla Theater. His set for "The Deception" was chosen for From the Edge, a U.S. exhibition that toured New York, Prague, and Moscow. Coggins has lived abroad and travels widely. He is married to Wendy Coggins, an interior designer. He is the father of the New York writer David Coggins and San Francisco fashion stylist Sarah Coggins. His work and his Minneapolis loft studio have been featured in numerous publications and on public television.
