Quan, author of the book series Live Greedy or Die Hungry, was recently released from prison. After doing a five-and-a-half-year bid, he put plans in place to pursue his passion for writing. Taking you back to how it all started. At an very young age, Quan took to the streets selling any and everything that would put some money in his pocket — mainly cocaine. After growing up in a neighborhood where gunfire killed more dreams than excuses, Quan felt like his chances of making it out weren’t just slim to none. He viewed it as ranging in the "NEGATIVES”. So needless to say, that’s where his life of crime began. Before Quan knew it, he was doing the very things he said he would never do all in the name of the almighty dollar. Quan would experience many stints in and out of the juvenile detention center, Pendleton Correctional for Juveniles, eventually doing his first bid as an adult at eighteen and again at twenty-three years of age. (Quan is still imprisoned by an ankle bracelet monitor as we speak). It’s safe to say, Quan has been dealing with the system for as long as he’s been dealing with the streets. He feels they go hand in hand. Throughout all the chaos of the streets, Quan still maintained at least a 3.6 GPA throughout high-school, took care of all his family, friends and close associates. Never compromising his love, loyalty, morals, values and principles for nobody. The least he could say for others in return. Getting money was always the easy part. Being able to keep it was an entirely different story. After Quan came to the realization that the game was the only place where he made many investments that he never got a proper return on, he changed his outlook and started channeling his hustle and ambition in other areas. Fast forward to 2020. Quan is now a father of three, a CDL driver, Author, successful Entrepreneur, Real Estate Investor and engaged to his lovely, childhood sweetheart of 14 years. Quan has truly left the block and started thinking outside of the box. And that’s only the beginning. (When I was a child, I thought like a child. Act like a child…). * He’ll let you finish the rest. To be continued…
