Douglas E. Neel (1954 to present) is an Episcopal priest and currently serves a parish in Colorado. He also is a lecturer on ancient food and food culture. He previously owned a Dallas-based catering company which specialized in replicating first century meals. He lives in Pagosa Springs where he makes his own cheese, bread, wine, and beer. This is the first book for Douglas and his coauthor Joel A. Pugh, though they are planning several others.
