Felix Dodds was born in Derby, England. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Water Institute at the University of North Carolina and an Associate Fellow at the Tellus Institute in Boston. He was the co-director of the Nexus Conference on Water-Energy-Food and Climate (2014, 2018). In 2019 he was a candidate to be Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme He was Executive Director of Stakeholder Forum for a Sustainable Future from 1993 until 2012 and has been involved in a number of UN Conferences and Summits on Sustainable Development leaving them in 2012. In 2011 he chaired the UN DPI NGO Conference Sustainable Society - Responsive Citizens and he chaired the NGO Coalition at the UN on Sustainable Development for four years (1997-2001) he promoted the concept of stakeholder involvement as a mechanism to enhance government decision making. He has authored a number of books on the following themes, environment and human security (climate change, biodiversity, nexus), global governance, UN negotiations for critical Conferences, and how to lobby at the UN. He was active in the UK Liberal Party culminating in chairing its youth wing (1985-87). His first book Into the Twenty-First Century was on the realignment of UK politics around a green agenda.
