Genesea M. Carter was born in Paso Robles, California, and has a M.A. in English from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a Ph.D in Rhetoric and Writing from the University of New Mexico. She has taught composition and rhetoric courses for over ten years. She's been published in Open Words: Access and English Studies, the Journal of Teaching Writing, Composition Studies, and Writers: Craft & Context. Currently, she is the Associate Director of Composition at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
