J R Wood

J R Wood, known to his friends at Ray, is from Carmi, Illinois. Carmi is a small town located in southern Illinois. He developed an interest in mystery novels after reading the complete collection of Hardy Boy novels at the town's Carnegie library. Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None made a lasting impression on him. After graduating high school, J R attended Southern Illinois University. He developed a life-long interest in computers and computer gaming. He received his electrical engineering in 1976 and then to law school. After law school, he became an assistant prosecuting attorney in Franklin County, Illinois. As a prosecutor, he handled traffic and juvenile cases. Juvenile Court included child neglect and child abuse cases. He saw children who had been raped, beaten, prostituted. and starved. After four years of handling important cases for the People of the State of Illinois, he moved to Chicagoland and practiced, of all things, in the area of intellectual property law. He and his wife, Marilyn, live in Grapevine, Texas. He still plays video games and his 1988 Fender Heavy Metal Strat.
