An accomplished writer and producer, Janice McDonald has written and produced material on all seven continents. Her most recent project is a book abut the "Residents of Oakland Cemetery" for history publishers Arcadia. She has also written about The Varsity drive-in and the Fox Theater, as well as co-authoring The East Lake Golf Club, The Myrtle Beach Pavilion and Aiken for Arcadia. Other books by Janice include Off the Beaten Path: Georgia, Day Trips from Atlanta, The Insider's Guide to Atlanta and the Insider's Guide to Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand for Globe Pequot Press and Historic Walking Guides: Bruges for Destin World Publishing. Her production company, J-Mac Productions has produced material for numerous outlets, including the US State Department and the History Channel, The Travel Channel, ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox News. Some of her projects include several episodes of the popular Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and ABC's coverage of Hurricane Michael. Janice has visited the libraries of Timbuktu, searched for polar bears in the Arctic, planted trees in Ethiopia and built homes in Mongolia. She has also traveled to Antarctica twice - once with the legendary explorer Jacques Cousteau and again with Prince Albert II of Monaco. An 8 time Emmy nominee, she is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Atlanta Press Club, the Georgia Production Partnership, and the North American Travel Writers Association.
