Jo Blake the author and illustrator for Shy Skye Flies High and Chiri The Hummingbird! She has worked with Primary School children teaching art and supporting their emotional wellbeing. She was a quiet girl growing up, who kept herself to herself; with an amazing imagination and artistic flare. Jo often found herself not included in play and class activities because she didn't stand out or mess around; she just blended into the background. Fast forward to the present - she is a mum to a bright, talented and courageous girl who like the hero of Shy Skye Flies High, faces her anxieties and fears everyday.
