John Wheatley

关于作者

John Wheatley was born and brought up in Middleton, near Manchester. He was educated at Leeds University. He was, for some time, a teacher in Dartford in Kent, Manchester, Stockport and Ashton. His first novels were historical novels set in Anglesey, North Wales. Six novels set in his home town of Middleton followed. His most recent books: THE GALLERY and THE HOUSE ON LADY HALL LANE are set in West Yorkshire where John now lives. `Whatever the story, or the period,' says John, 'the landscape is always an essential part of my writing - town or countryside, I love trying to create a sense of place and local identity.' THE GALLERY is John's first attempt at a POLICE/CRIME novel. It features the Detective Nula Ryan, and is the first of three titles in which Nula is the central character.
