Jong paung Park

Dr. Park, Jong Paung is a leading authority and writer on Admiral Yi Sun-sin studies. He is a graduate of Sogang University and Korea University Graduate School, Department of Political Science and Diplomacy (B.A., M.A. in Political Science), and received his Ph.D. from the Department of Admiral Yi Sun-sin at The Graduate School, Daegu Catholic University, with his dissertation “Study of 17th-18th Century Biographies on Admiral Yi Sun-sin (李舜臣).” As a historical critic and historian, he has focused on making Korean history and Admiral Yi Sun-sin accessible to modern readers. He has written in-depth historical columns for major Korean media outlets and has authored several books as an expert on Admiral Yi, most notably the translation of Admiral Yi's War Diary into modern Korean, which serves as an important bridge between the historical record and modern readers.
